What is a RACI matrix?

A RACI matrix maps every process to the people involved and their role: Responsible (does the work), Accountable (owns the outcome and decides), Consulted (gives input before) and Informed (is told after). It makes ownership explicit so work stops falling between people.

How is it different from a RACI template in Excel?

A template gives you an empty grid. The Ownership Map fills in typical processes for your industry, then analyses what you mark: founder dependency, processes without an owner, two deciders, single points of failure and load per person. It ends with an ordered delegation plan.

What is founder dependency?

Accepted Answer

The share of your operational processes where the founder personally decides or executes. Strategic decisions such as budget, key contracts, hiring and priorities are not counted. If most day-to-day work goes through one person, the company cannot move faster than that person's calendar. There is no universal benchmark: track your own trend quarter to quarter.

Should the founder delegate everything?

No. Budget, key contracts, hiring and firing, priorities and the product roadmap are fine to keep with the founder, and the tool does not flag them. The goal is to hand off recurring operational decisions and execution.

Is my data stored anywhere?

Accepted Answer

No. The map runs entirely in your browser. The names and roles you enter are not sent to OptiSync. Copy it into Google Docs or Sheets, or download a PDF, to keep a copy.

How often should we update the map?

Accepted Answer

Every quarter, and whenever the team changes: a new hire, someone leaving, a new market or product line. Each change usually moves ownership of several processes.
